Semiotics Definition = The theory and study of signs and symbols, especially as elements of language or other systems of communication, and comprising semantics, syntactics, and pragmatics.

Signs = The sign is the whole that results from the association of the signifier with the signified . The relationship between the signifier and the signified is referred to as 'signification'.

Signifiers = The phonological or orthographic sound or appearance of a word that can be used to describe or identify something

Signified =The concept that a signifier denotes.
